Start with everyday tasks.
Temperature, airflow, lights, wipers, and volume are repeated tasks. Their controls should be easy to locate, distinguish, and operate. Labels, spacing, contrast, and tactile feedback deserve attention.
Let the phone do its part.
Navigation and music change quickly. A replaceable head unit with intended phone integration can serve those tasks while the core vehicle controls remain familiar. The exact installation needs to be evaluated for the selected cabin.
Test the ordinary moments.
Can a driver find a knob in low light? Can a passenger understand it without an explanation? Does a control remain usable with work gloves? These are useful evaluation questions for a physical demonstrator.
